Monitoring

| What is Stormwater | Everyday Pollutants | How Can I Help | Monitoring |

Salt Lake County, Salt Lake City and Utah Department of Transportation have been monitoring stormwater quality since 1992. In 2000, Salt Lake County published a report titled "Stormwater Quality Data Technical Report" that summarizes 8 years of data.

The report examined the amount of pollutants from different land uses (residential, transportation, and commercial/ industrial). Because such a large portion of the Salt Lake valley is residential, the residential areas were found to contribute more pollutants than either transportation or commercial/ industrial.

The graphs below show the results.
